Hi all. I have a pretty bug collection of videos in avi format - about 1200 full length movies, and about 2000 documentaries.
So the problem of ordering and classifying them has come up, and I'm asking for help.
I need a good, comprehensive list of categories so I can create folders and store the files in an organized manner.
For example - the documentaries might have these categories
- famous people
- ancient history
- modern history
- inventions
- the solar system
- animals
- plants
But the list is huge and my current classification is not very good. For example - a documentary about the Vietnam war could be filed under "War", "Modern History" or "Political science". A documentary about Hitler could go under "Famous people" or "War" or "History" - The movie "Matrix" could be filed under "Sci-Fi", "Fantasy", "Action", "Thriller" or "Drama". You can see my problem.
I thought (perhaps) I could create shortcuts to various videos so they can appear in several different categories. Just a thought.
Can anybody point me to a well thought-out classification system and some rules for using it so I can get my library under control?
Thanks in advance!
