Use the Trakt plugin or http://follw.it/ to sync your current database to an online database so it stores your watched status for movies & series. Do this with your current install first!!
Use the IMDb+ Plugin as a scraper
When you got everything installed and the new databases have been created, you can use Trakt / follw.it again to sync your watched status again.
If you have .nfo files with the IMDb id then the IMDb+ scraper will read the info from those files and match them with the movies.
