Hi guys (and maybe some women?)!

Atm I´m having a singleseat htpc, running mediaportal rc1 on windows xp. The hardware is a Biostar TA690G and a AMD BE-2350.

For the future I´m dreaming of a client-server solution, because I want to include a second tv.
The "main-tv" is a samsung a656 40", so I want to be able to watch hdtv via dvb-s2. The second tv will be a small one near the bed, so no hdtv is necessary here.

Now I had following idea:

Client&Server for HDTV:
780G-Board with a 4850e processor

SDTV-Client:
(my old) TA690G and the BE-2350

Does this make sense?
And how much RAM will I need in each of the htpcs?

Would it be possible to run the SDTV without a HDD? Maybe some solution with Windows XPembedded or a boot via LAN?

Thanks in advance

It would be possible to run it from a usb-stick. They cost nothing these days. But they are slower, and don't have infinite read/writes.

If it has to be small, use a sata notebook hdd...
