I know there is a web team building a cool web interface to the program guide but what is preventing the media portal UI from communicating with a remote install of Media protal?
The internal guide features are very UI rich. You can't beat a winforms app.
Would it be possible to run 2 winforms version of media portal on two seperate PCs where client can browse the guide on the server version and schedule recording? You give up so much functionality with a web UI.
