Ok so here's the deal, I am getting unusual delays in audio sync(video is ahead like 2-3 seconds) on mp4 containers. This is only happening in MP(and graphstudio), when the file is played in VLC or WMP12 it plays just fine. Not sure when exactly this started. Checked registry with Filmerit, fixed all errors that were found. Have tried every codec combo i can with no luck, EVR on and off, Auto Codecs on and off. Uninstalled/Reinstalled FFDSHOW, hali, ac3filter. Even tried the SAF pack to no avail. I am sure its not a hardware issue since it plays fine outside of MP. Any ideas are appriciated, this is driving me nuts. Avi files seem to be uneffected

OS: Win 7 ultimate
Cpu: Amd 64x2 3800+
Mem: 3gb
Vid:Gforce 6150(integrated with 128mb shared)
MP 1.0.2 with tv clent

btw the .mp4s are .h264 and i believe AAC, both 2 channel and 5.1 channel formats are affected by this. VLC shows the audio codec as mp4a, by default graphstudio connects audio to Monogram AAC, tried rendering the file through ffdshow audio and still get the delay

I too am having the same problem with Windows 7 Home premium and MP 1.1 Beta. Tried SAF and codecs just for H264 and AAC. If I launch XBMC not problem with sync. I haven't found a solution either was hoping someone else did. If you have gotten it fix can u let me know what you did to resolve it. Dell Intel 2 Core Duo 2.8GHZ 4GB ram HD4380 ATI graphics.

The only "fix" i have found so far is to install the external vlc plugin, and set it up to run the mp4 extensions. I dont really like doing this because I am having issues with the OSD but it does get the files to play synced. I am calling it a temp solution because of the osd problems I am having. I think my next steps will be a complete MP cleanup and rebuild, but with out the tv server or client. I think that is the culprit, but i havent tried this yet. On a side note, when configuring the VLC plugin when applying the settings my MP Config is throwing an exception and closing, but it seems to save the settings. If you come up with a better solution let me know, if my rebuild fixes the problem I will post results as well.

Ok so I figured it out for me setup but you can try this as well. I uninstalled SAF by running setup again first thing it does it prompt for you to uninstall. Next I installed Divx 7. After that went to mediaportal configuration click videos then video player click drop down arrow for H.264 video decoder and select Divx H.264. Decoder then AAC audio decoder select DivX AAC decoder
as for other decoder i have the following MPEG-2 video decoder is MPC - MPEG-2 video decoder (Gabest) MPEG/ AC3 audio decocer is Cyperlink Audio decoder Hope this helps

When requesting support or reporting bugs, logs should always be attached. This way devs and other experts have much better chance of finding the source of your problem.

Update: Just tryed a full clean-up of MP. Re-installed MP 1.1.0_Beta-1 rev23491, no tv support. Installed CoreAVC. Still having the audio delays. Although the "sample" files of same movies play fine. I also am not experiencing these delays in XBMC, or VLC, or even WMP. Really scratching my head on this now. Logs are attached this time. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

Your logs show the movie you were trying to play (CR), was 1280x720 AVC video. I would think that should have problems trying to play back on a GF6150 integrated.

I had a 690G ATI integrated chipset, that couldn't play back high-res Rips. It had horrible dropped frames & sync problems. They would play fine in WMP on the same HW though. I upgraded the motherboard to a 785g chipset board, & they play fine now in MP.

What does MP show when you press shift+1 during playback?

Next to the framerate, is it showing lots of dropped frames & sync glitches?

As long as the video in the files is 704x352 or something like that you'll be fine. High res ones like the one in your logs won't work well on your HW.

Mediaportal has higher hardware requirements for playing the same video compared to some of the stand alone players. So if your hardware is not up to spec, you may find that you get issues with mediaportal, but not the other players.

Having said that, the above user with HD4380 should be fine for 720P/1080P mkv files if they use hardware acceleration.

I would be right there with you as far as hardware being the culprit if this was not a new issue. Similiar res videos have played in the past just fine. Also in case i hadnt clarified. It is the audio that is dragging behind. Shift +1 reveals some sync errors in the start up of playback(didnt climb over 30 and dropped down to 7 after a minute) Dropped frames were in the neighborhood of 30 to 2000 drawn frames. I havent pulled the logs yet but, the other client in my setup is having similar issues on a gf8200 and only with the mp4's. These logs should have both the sample file and the full version file listed, sample is second one played in the logs. Sample file plays fine. If i am reading the logs right it appears it is same res as the full version.

I'm having the same problem. On certain mp4 files with AAC audio, it is out of sync (about 3 seconds too late). If I play the same file in MPC-HC it plays fine no problem.
