AW: Re: AW: Codecs on the server ? Hi. I don't need to tell you one as simply all things installed by SAF (or any other codec pack) is obsolete excerpt LAVF (or on "older" SAF packages, Haali). All other stuff beside the MKV splitter can only be "fine tuning". But how can fine tuning be done by a "universal" package witch is not even optimized for the specific OS used??? Not to talk about the unique system and wishes of the user... As example: If you have Nvidia Graphics, most of the time (more than 90%) the CUVID codec provided best possible SDTV quality. But on some systems CUVID did not work that good. Why? I don't know. And, if you don't have Nvidia, you can't use CUVID at all. So tell me how this could be covered by a "universal" codec pack??? Other example. I own 4 PC's with MediaPortal installed on. Three of them are working perfect with LAVF splitter. But on one system I have to use Haali, as LAVF makes a lot of stutter... We're talking about Win 7 of course. With XP things are looking totally different as XP is no MultiMedia OS at all. On XP you're really in a need to install tons of things to get MultiMedia working. Sad but true... And as always, the more stuff you install the worse Windows will become. So think twice before you press the "install" button...
