Hi, when I play an MKV (720p) it plays fine in WMP 9, but under the movie player in MP, I can tell that the colors are blotchy. It's like when you have your desktop in 256 colors and you see big differences between patches of colors (hopefully i describe it correctly). It's like it has limited color range.

I made sure I am using the same codecs as in WMP 9 by checking the "automatic decoder settings" (so directshow merit is used) in MP config. But still the same problem persists. It even plays fine on PowerDVD as well.

What could it be? Is the player not as good quality as WMP? If I can't figure it out I'll have to launch WMP externally then.

Thanks a lot...
