colors in EPG (1 Viewer)

Clearly, the MP EPG can display different colors because it uses red to indicate a scheduled recording.

So, is the a way to have it display different colors for different program categories, such as those in the XML produced by mc2xml and probably others?

If not, why?

It is in theory possible but currently there is no code to do this (other than the red for recordings)

I remember there was such an Option in cfg. The colors were randomly assigned to the categories. Just browse around the confit programm in advanced mode.

I think this existed in the old TV engine that was built into MediaPortal. This TV engine was removed some time back. I don't think it has ever been present in the TV Server / TV Client Plugin.

I believe the old TV engine did allow colours for genres in guide but this has long gone (although there is some code still lying around to do this)

If someone was to submit a patch for this we could look at it.....
