I just built my first HTPC and have been using MS media center with no issues. After seeing Media portal I had to convert over to Mediaportal. But, I can't get a driver for the Compro Videomate e700 driver for mediaportal to view TV. Is anybody using the Compro Videomate E700 tv card and get mediaportal to recognize it?

So long as your card has a microsoft BDA driver, MP should detect it. You don't need a driver specific to MP. Make sure you install the drivers that came with your card before trying to get MP to find it.

    Terry,

I had a similar problem trying to get my Compro DVBT-300 to work with MP. My eventual solution was to install TV Server along with MP. My T300 was immediately detected and began working. Give it a try.

yep, Ogden is right. The TV Server engine will detect any TV card that shows up in Windows imaging devices.
The built in MP TV engine relies on the "CaptureCardDefinitions.xml" file and needs to be updated for newer cards. It's complicated to do.

The TV server will give you better features as well, since the old engine is discontinued and no longer supported.

    Cheers,
    Marcus.

Thanks OgdenP and Marcusb for the tips. I will load the TV server. Thought there was no point since no card detected.
