Computer and TV in 2 seperate rooms / What r good options? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

I just put together MediaPortal on my Brother-n-laws computer with about 200 films. It works great on his main computer in his designated computer room but we would like to b able to have him watch movies on the big screen tv sometimes , which is actually in another room. This Tv room is about 75 to 100 feet away. He has a wireless router set up in the house. Does anyone know if there is some sort of Media extender for this type of set up where computer and TV r in seperate rooms? We really don't want to run a VGA cable thru the basement and then up again to the main floor throughout the house if we don't have to. He is also not the type to have another computer built just to sit by the TV which will only b used for media purposes like i do. I recently saw a Lynksys Media extender but it only seems to be compatible with Windows Vista Media Center. Hopefully someone has a similar set up or experience and cant help us out.

Hi,
well I'd think about having atom-based client like the latest eeeBox (wlan, Ion Graphics etc) with a MP client running on.
From my perspective the best "bang for the buck"

BTW: I will have this setup really soon this month.... also already have a eeeTop (see my specs with win7) which is really running great.

Does the eeeTop support 50hz refresh rates?

I see there is one with ati 4xxx-series graphics and 21" screen on the market now. Could be a perfect bedroom TV/MP-client. Of course, a 32 inch would better
