I am beginning to lean how do a setup a system with mediaportal, but I do have a question that many have not asked. is it possible to duel boot windows 2000 along with windows XP would mediaportal have any issues I should be aware of? I got to install windows 2000 first before XP so windows 2000 first disk than windows XP on the second.

the reason I am asking this is I have older games that run better in win2000 than xp I would like to use this PC as both a DVR and a older game machine

thanks

dave

I cant see dual booting being an issue as long as your copy of XP is set up correctly with all the required updates and hotfixes to run MP

    Thanks
I had to ask, just so you know mediaportal was reviewed by a reader in a pc magazine I read, the reviewer really liked mediaportal. with rules here I can not tell you the magazine it was in I do not think.

I am wondering how many TV show can mediaportal record at one time, does this depend on the TV card?

    thanks

Yes. For example, if you have a single DVB-T card you can record one channel and while that channel is being recorded you are unable to timeshift.

With dual DVB-T tuner card you can watch one channel / record another at the same time.

See also hybrid cards if you are using analog, DVB-S, etc...
