What is the difference beetween "Computerformat" and "Videoformat"?

My TV has following Display Resolutions:
    Computerformats
    640 x 480 60 HZ
    800 x 600 60 HZ
    1024 x 768 60 Hz

    Videoformats
    640 x 480i 1Fh
    640 x 480p 2 Fh
    720 x 576i 1 Fh
    720 576p 2 Fh
    1280 x 720p 3 Fh
    1920 x 108i 2 Fh

I have my PC connected via DVI and the displayresolution is 1280x768 at 60 Hz and it works!

    Philips by any chance :)

Same here, if i try its native 720, everything is squashed\misshapen and just not clear, especially in windows, i think its down to the tv hardware processing, which causes it.
Tried every other combination can think off, but as above resolution gives totally great pictures on HD movies, then it suits me.

Sometimes people go for the technical holy grail of 1 to 1 pixel mapping and forget they are after a good picture, which is what really counts.
