Dunno if this is the right place but I guess a mod will slap me on my fingers if not. ;)

I discovered comskip not that long ago and got it working which is really a relief with all those commercial breaks lately.
In the process of upgrading between the various RC's and immediately to the final release, the skipping didn't work anymore from some point.
The .txt file is being created and contains the frames with the logo, so this far everything seems to be ok.

Just to be sure, this is how it's setup:
    - on main system (client/server), I have 2 partitions and comskip v80_031 is in d:\program files\comskip
    - in the tv server config applet, the full path to the executable is entered and testing on a file starts the process
    - on both systems (1 client & client/server) I have checked the option in the configuration applet -> General -> 'Automatically skip commercials with comskip data available'

Nothing happens when watching a recording with commercials - that is: commercials are being shown.

Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong or what to look for?
    TIA

    Hi :)

No idea what is wrong on your side, but I just confirmed that comskip still working over here on MP 1.1.0.

    Hi rekenaar,

Thank you for looking into this and good to know that it's still working. ;)

Can you please confirm these things for me:
    1) based on what I wrote about it earlier, did I miss something in setting it up/configuring?
    2) the client doesn't need the comskip program, it ONLY uses the .txt file that is created by comskip

Am I missing something else, what can I do to come to a solution?

    TIA!

Just thinking that I am using ForTheRecord. So I am actually not testing the MP TVClient but rather the 4TR TVClient.
    Sorry.

    Your steps seem fine.
Maybe you should attach debug log files. One of our technical guys can mabe spot something.

So I guess the log files have to be created after having recorded something which has commercials, right?

Well if you say that the txt file is created fine, then I would rather think you should create client (playback) log files.
But to be safe, attach both. Maybe someone can spot something.

In the mean time, if someone else (without 4TR) can test it, it would also help.

    Hi Ray,

Thank you for dropping by in this topic.

So since you say you're singleseat user, these settings also have to change so that the client on the same as the server is able to skip or am I seeing this wrong and if so, has something changed the pas months?
