configuration error (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I installed the program. everything looked good. When I went to run "mediaportal configuration" it asks about simple or advanced (I tried both same issue) then all MP boxes disappear and a program called configuration (task manager) runs using 50% of the cpu. It has been running for about 20 minuets now. I have not seen any other dialogue boxes. Is this normal?

No its not normal, try re-installing....

I performed a full uninstall using the MP app then reinstalled and had the same issue.

I have exactly the same problem.

Trying to run MP for the first time it jumps to configuration.exe because the lack of MediaPortal.xml (I presume).
Watchdog cannot complete the report for the exact same reason. So I cannot collect logs.
I download other logs reports tho stole the MediaPortal.xml file and try to run either config or MP without success. Every time I try to start it hangs without message of any kind.
I have uninstall completely several times and reinstall several svn builds with the same results.

I'm bored to try and try and try... Everything I imagined.

sorry for bad english, but i have the same Problem I think. As an attachment i have my logs. Please help !! I have no access to C:/Documents and Settings where the MediaPortal.xml File should be located.

Hi.. as your config.log says:
direct input not enabled

that should be an directX issue..

btw : have the same problem, but for me it stops at :
BASS Engine (adavnced mode)

and
Loading Video Database (simple mode)

still trying
