Hello, I've been enjoying Mediaportal for about 2 months now and finally decided to upgrade after the test machine worked out very well. A couple days ago I installed mediaportal on a fresh install of windows XP with all updates.
Now, Mediaportal installed fine - the program works, but as soon as I try to run the "Mediaportal setup" I click and click and click the icon but it never runs. I get an hour glass for a second then it goes away. It just doesn't open, I checked the event log for windows and didn't see any errors show up related to the incident - unless ATI's catalyst control center is causing a .net 2.0 error.
I've tried everything, unstalled and reinstalled a dozen times, to no effect. The only way I can edit my menu options is by editing the mediaportal.xml file - but even then all the options are not there. I'd like to experiment with some more of the options.
This is with RC3 on a Celeron 1.8ghz, 256mb, and 250gb HD.
*edit I hope I'm refering to the correct file, the wizards for searching media/adding remotes came up fine upon loading of mediaportal for the first time
