Hi

I already posted about my problem in the German support forum but received no clues on what to do.
I had an working MP under Windows XP, a week ago I switched to another hardware setup (mainly MB and CPU) and installed vista 32bit. Since then I cannot get MP to work. I reinstalled it a couple of times but to no avail.
It installs fine but the configuration program freezes at the "adding remote" step.
Here are the config logs:

As you can see I installed it to C:\MediaPortal\ but the log points to some directories at :\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\ which are nonexistent. Could that be the problem? What should I do?
Thanks in adance.

    This is the hidden folder that vista save program config to (enable show hidden files and folders).

    At a a guess mediaportal.xml maybe corrupt, try deleting and reconfigure.

    ps. you do not mention if you even are using a remote.

    Thanks for the reply. Well I didn't mention an remote because I don't use one. I use an "Media Centre Controlboard" from Speedlink (SL-6495-SSV) which is nothing more than an keyboard with an trackball.
    I reinstalled at least 5 times and deleted the whole installation folder to be sure that no old files are left behind. None of the installations let me get to the configuration screen.
    I will enable hidden folders as soon as I get to my htpc. I did a search for the files but maybe hidden folders (files) aren't displayed in the search results on default.

    Ok I am now able to see the ProgramData Folder and there is an Mediaportal Folder inside. I deinstalled everything, deleted the folders inside programs and inside programdata and installed mp again. No change - the configuration.exe still freezes at the "adding remote" step. Is there maybe an way to skip that step?

    The mediaportal.xml you mentioned is rather small:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    - <profile>
    - <section name="general">
    <entry name="loglevel">1</entry>
    </section>
    </profile>

    Have you configured Mediaportal, as this should all be saved to that xml file, mines 217Kb size wise.

    Try disabling UAC, this may be giving you problems as well.

    I can't configure it - that is my problem since the configuration hangs at the "adding remote" step. Therefore is the mediaportal.xml "empty".
    UAC is off (I can't stand it)

    The dvb-c card shouldn't be the cause since I tried MP on vista before I bought the tv card and had no success.
