How do I configure v0.2.3.0 to use CD-IN as my audio input? I am running basic cable through a Leadtek WinTV 2000 XP RM card and connecting to my motherboard's Realtek audio CD-IN line. I don't have the option of using another connection on this card. I have the Leadtek software installed and working with video and audio, however, MP only shows me the video and doesn't playback or record audio

Any tips?

Also, if I need to provide more information let me know. I don't have the information handy that the template for this post wanted, is there a way to output a config file that I can paste/upload to the forums or my webspace?

Check in your soundcards software that cd in is enabled and not set to auto mute, and if not working then change audio renderer from defaultdirect sound to realtek default device, or name to that effect, you may have to do this under DVD, Movies and TV parts of MP config.

My soundchip is set up properly as the CD-IN is working in other applications. However, I don't see the right options under TV. My options for audio renderer are as follows: Default DirectSound Device, Realtek Digital Output, Default Wave-Out Device, DirectSound: Realtek Digital Output. Vista shows these items a little differently at the OS-level, only taking analog and digital plugs on the outside into account. I don't think the others sounds right, but heck I'm bored, I am going to try each one individually and see if I get some sound going and post back on the results.

Got it! It's been hiding in there all along. For some reason, Vista had set my CD audio line within the speaker configuration not on mute, but to 0 so it was essentially muted. I now have video and sound! Great!

One small problem. I am noticing some performance hiccups in the video playback. I am going to try some different decoders, but I am not sure. The card is software encoding, but I have a Celeron Dual-Core overlocked to 2.4GHz and 2GB of RAM in this system. That should be enough to playback this video considering the quality.

Any thoughts? I'll be back soon.

Where video is concerned, gpu more important than cpu.

BTW what video adapter have you got.

Just an update. I have sound and video working fine now. The video is still lagging and falls out of sync with the audio because of that.

My video card is a GeForce 7800GT 256MB, but I am going to move my 8600 GTS 256MB back in and see if that works any better. I was really just testing this card; the 8600 is my usual. Hopefully that helps...

8600 GTS and latest Nvidia drivers didn't help the audio or the video. Still video lag and audio getting more and more out of sync. It even takes about 2 seconds for the picture to show up once I start the TV module. The audio plays immediately, but the picture doesn't appear for about 2 seconds which sets it immediately into a situation of sync breakage.

I'm not sure if this is related, but when I go into the configuration utility and open the Edit menu for my tuner card, it says "Unable to create graph for this device!!" Does that have anything to do with this? What does that even mean?
