    Yeah, I understand. :)
    Like I said in my previous post: you can edit the keyboard shortcuts that MP uses to be whatever you want them to be. That's what this configuration is:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...l_Configuration/11_General/12_Keys_and_Sounds

    ...and that's completely independent of the remote mapping configuration. Unfortunately I don't think CTRL or ALT are supported.

    @Stéphane Lenclud
    Are you able to confirm?

    Basic keyboard and remote configuration are almost completely independent.
    Though Multimedia keys on your keyboard (track navigation, volume control, play/pause etc...) are usually handled through our HID input device configuration.
    Also the cursor navigation keys (up, down, right and left arrow) and a couple of others on your remote typically send generic keyboard events rather specific HID once.

    Mediaportal uses a fixed set of keys buttons. If the key isn't there you can't bind it. A remote must use this subset - which are shown in the HID mapping.

    If the key is not there you can't bind it from the mapping UI. You should still be able to alter the XML file configuration manually to handle virtually any HID code, though that typically requires code level understanding of HID and MediaPortal action handling. Those keys are not defined by MediaPortal they are defined by the HID specs. Which key are you missing?

    I couldn't get it working using the HID option.

    Did it work using MCE option? That would be really odd since any MCE hardware is basically just a specific HID implementation.
    Can you give us the reference of your IR receiver hardware? Photos or links could help too. Is it built-in into your chassis? In which case the chassis reference could help.
    The universal remote (logitech harmony, philips prestigo...) you are using it with is pretty much irrelevant to us.
