Can somebody point me in the right direction on how to setup the remote that came with my TechnoTrend 1500 card? I'v been trying to get it working for a few days now (since friday), but I've had no succes.
Some facts/scenarios : (just to point out what I tried)
Mediaportal Related
* Using the "MCE"-option doesn't work.
* The hauppage option indicates that there are no drivers installed.
* I tried setting up WINLirc, but it seems to (only) want a COM1 specification, which cannot be given as it's on-board.
3th Party related
* I can verify that the remote & the integrated receiver are working when using the TechnoTrend mediacenter.
* In some threads (of other media centers) I read that the remote is only to be used with the TechnoTrend mediacenter, but that there is a (reversed-engineered) api that can be used.
* The TechnoTrend "USBLIRC" application doesn't see the IR signals. (I hoped that it would drive the same api as for the integrated one.)
* My Antec Fusion case has an integrated VFD which should be capable of picking up signals from a MCE remote. The thing that makes me ponder is that the TechnoTrend remote isn't MCE (apparently it's using a philips RC5 protocol or such?) and I've read some forum posts indicating that an integration between the SoundGraph VFD & MediaPortal isn't that smooth.
So the questions that are keeping me up at night ( figure of speech ;-) ) :
* Can I use my TechnoTrend remote? If so, how?
* What are my options? Are there any suggestions that would enable me to smoothly enable a remote for my MediaPortal setup? => As the WAF (wife annoyance factor) is seriously growing because the keyboard isn't what she likes to use for watching TV... ;-)
If I failed to provide certain details/information, letme know... It's my first post here, so I hope I haven't forgetten anything.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Karim
