Dear forum,
Although I went carefully through all documentation (at least, I think so...), I am still confused about all the EPG settings. I use MP RC 1.0 + latest patches (TV Server + Client + Client Plugin). I am watching Astra 2A/2B/2C/2D at 28.2°E, only freeview channels.
First, I don't fully understand how EPG is being transmitted. Suppose I am watching ITV1. Is ITV broadcasting EPG data for ITV only? Does that mean that I physically cannot get any EPG data from BBC in my database unless I switch to a BBC channel? Does the TV Server service 'scan' different channels while not watching TV to grab EPG data?
Then, the configuration. In the TV Server configuration, you can tick checkboxes for using EPG (and filter for certain languages). However, in the 'Settings' section of the Mediaportal client (not the configuration, I am really talking about the nice blue screens in the client itself), under TV, I can also check certain channels as where to get EPG data from. Are this settings additional, different, obsolete, or even conflicting with those in the TV server?
The thing is, I seem to get EPG data for quite some channels (ITV and related channels), but not for e.g. BBC.
Any help would be appreciated! Many thanks in advance!
PS, if anyone knows another solution (via web or so) to get those British Channels program guides, that would also be appreciated!
