Confused on Program Guide setup (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,
Decided to give MP a try as an alternative to my current use of MCE based on the great reviews Ive heard about it. It seems pretty promising by offering a ton of customization options MCE is lacking.

The first thing Im getting caught up on is the configuration of the Program Guide. The few tutorials I can find on it talk about manually assigning every single channel or mucking around with xml / ini files.

Is there not a solution out there, similar to MCE and other HTPC software products, which just let me plug in my zip and cable carrier and have it automatically download the info for me? Based on the tons of plug-ins available I have to assume there is and that Im just overlooking something here...

Take a look at the USA EPG plugin. It is by far the best USA program guide solution for MP.
