Hi,
I am very confused with the provided documentation for MediaPortal and I am hoping that you can help me...
I sucessfully installed MediaPortal 0.2.0 on WinXP Pro SP2. I have 1GB RAM and a Intel Centrino 1.4 Ghz CPU. GUI and sound is working fine.
I have troubles with my TV-Card. It's the ADS tech Dual TV Cardbus (PTV-331-EF).

In the television setup I can add a x713 BDA Analog Capture (General H/W encoding card). When I run "autotune" all channels are scanned but none is found. What does this mean? Are wrong drivers installed? Should I change some settings? Can "autotune" be run even if there's an unsupported card installed?
My errorlog says the following when I run "autotune":
SinkGraph:confused:tartViewing() FAILED: no mpeg2 demuxer present
When launching the setup the logs get filled with:
CaptureCard 713x BDA Analog Capture NOT supported, no definitions found
Can you help me?
I don't know if I need a different driver, need to change decoders in the setup or something different.

Thank you very much.

Thanks for the reply.
Can you explain me what the diffrenece between hardware and software based cards is? How can I determine if my card is hard- or software based?
Another question: I can choose between four cards in the televsion setup. These are Analog H/W, Digital H/W, Analog S/W, Digital S/W. What's the difference? How can I find out which to choose?
I want to watch DVB-T in Munich, Germany.

OK, so your card (an ADS tech Dual TV Cardbus (PTV-331-EF)) is a DVB-T card, so the issue of whether it is software or hardware based does not apply.

What you need to do is to get this card added to the support list of cards for MediaPortal.

You can do that by following the instructions here.

Yours is a hybrid card, which features a dvb-t component (with use of BDA drivers) and a software analogue component (which can have support added with a software encoder, 2.8Ghz minimum required).

According to the wiki there is a card with a similar name (but it appears it cant be the same if yours isnt showing up properly). You may have to do whats in the how to get my card supported thread (digital + software analogue threads).

Thanks so far. My card seems to be supported, it's the
"ADS-Tech Instant TV DVB-T Dual Cardbus" under "Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) Cards" in the wiki.
I can see a four 713x Cards in the configuration. Both S/W and H/W Digital don't support autotune. With Analog I can autotune for channels (but none is found) and the following errors occur in the log:

SinkGraph:confused:tartViewing() FAILED: no mpeg2 demuxer present
CaptureCard 713x BDA Analog Capture NOT supported, no definitions found

    Any clue?

Well as my card is a hybrid card I see four capture cards. The digital ones (I assume this is DVB-T) cannot create a Graph for H/W and S/W.
I'm quite stuck with this issue...
