hello all

first i wan't to thankyou for this great software

my question :

usually all my downloaded files are stored in my desktop pc in my bedroom . so now is it possible to use my other pc which is in the living room to play my bedroom pc files ( make a link between them -exactly same as the xbox 360 media center ) so i don't need to move the files every time i want to watch anything ?

thanks .

Sure. You have to share the video folder on your bedroom PC - and make sure, your bedroom pc is running when you want to watch files. In the living room, just map a network share, either by using ->cmd -> net use m: \\bedroompc\sharename or via explorer, Extras, Map Network drive. And you´re done. Now you should be able to watch your files in your living room.

An alternative (if you don´t always want to have your bedroom pc running) is using a nas (try ebay).

Or if they are the other sides of the house, do what I do, use a 2Gb USB whilst waiting for the 50m Cat 5e cable to arrive :D

On the bedroom PC, right click on the folder you want to share, choose Sharing and Security... Share This Folder... That should make the folder visible in the My Network Places... folder on the living room PC. This assumes that you have run the Network Setup Wizard on both PCs. Networking on XP is a pain.
