Connection error when installing (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal was working without any issue until 24 hours ago. Then it started hanging; the disk it was installed on was quite full, so I thought it might be that. However, freeing up space didn't change that. So, I came here to get the installation file again to reinstall. I saw the version I downloaded was the next version up from what I had. I installed, and got the error in the attached screenshot.

So far I have tried reinstalling over the top of the existing install, doing a fresh install, uninstalling -> rebooting -> installing. Nothing I have done changes the problem.

Any help with this greatly appreciated.

There seems to be an ongoing problem that some users have when trying to install MP 1.36. I regret that I do not know the cause of this problem, and so cannot suggest a solution. However, I can suggest a workaround that (hopefully) will work for you. The workaround is to:

• Completely uninstall MP, MySQL, and MariaDB.
• Perform a first-time install of MP 1.33 (you can choose either the 32-bit or 64-bit version).
• Perform an upgrade install of MP 1.36 over MP 1.33 (you don't need to install MP 1.34 or 1.35).

With any luck, @Pablik will be along soon, and will be able to look at your log files and tell you what the problem really is, and how to solve it.
