Could I use a capture card like the DVC100 on MediaPortal? (1 Viewer)

I was trying to find a way to play my consoles on the computer by hooking it up to a dvc100 capture card. It has the composite input so I thought that it should work. I installed MediaPortal with not much of a clue of what it did, just that it was a media center program. I guess a capture card isn't exactly a tv tuner but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I have the driver for it installed but I have nothing to go on in the program. I click on TV in the menu and it just goes back to the window. The console hooked up to the card is turned on so I don't think signal is an issue. Any help?

Looks like MP is not the way to go for you, MP is a Media Center, its designed to watch TV, play video, music, ... but it should work, theres little information to help you fix your problem.

Any way, i dont even see why you want to play your console (XBOX, PS3, ... ?? ) throught the PC, unless you want to record your play time, if you just want to play the console in your PC monitor i would use a composite to vga converter, they are cheap and very easy to find.
