So, my HTPC is done and everything is installed. Now to the fun part.

I added my music folder and tried the cover art downloader. Not satisfied. It picks wrong covers and have some problems with various artists albums etc.

So, how can I manually add FRONT CD covers to all my albums and singles to get the displayed in mediaportal my music?

And how can I change the genre tag of an album?

What size should they be and were do I put them?

All my music is in one folder (Music) and inside there are folders with artists inside those album folders or artist - album folders straight away.

I added some movies into a movies folder and mediaportal found everything, imported the imdb data and I got to pick artwork for those, everything fine except some movies show 0 mins runtime.

also, to use a tv series plugin how should I arrange my tv series? all in one folder or a TV-SERIES folder with one serie in each folder then all episodes in that folder??

The skin screenshots on here all look great and thats what we all want.

Generally just putting a folder.jpg inside the Album folder will do it although personally I've found sometimes MediaPortal doesn't always pick it up for some albums and I haven't worked out why yet.
You can also embed the artwork inside each mp3 file, you'll need an app that can do this for you, see below.

And how can I change the genre tag of an album?
You'd need an app that can edit the information, search Google for 'mp3 tag' and you'll find a number of free programs that can do this for you.

I use the following hierarchy for my TV series:

    -TV Series
    -Battlestar Galactica
    -Season 1
    -Season 2
    etc.

I now got the movies, tv-series looking great, allthough some movies still show 0 mins runtime. I'll look into that later.

Ok, so I will edit the id tags, np.

Is there any possibility to add multiple genre tags for music?

    Example: (3 albums)

album 1 = Pop, Electronic, Synthpop
    album 2 = Pop
    album 3 = Electronic, Industrial

If I chose to play tags Pop album 1+2 lists, if I chose Electronic album 1+3 and if I chose Synthpop or Industrial only album 1 and 3 respect...

Is there any way to do this? It would be a great way to sort yar music to get rid of "live" tracks, "remix" ie. only get clean studio tracks when you want and remixes when you want.

You could also ad other different tags like 80's, 90's etc. and maybe be able to filter in two ways: ALL or ONLY.

For example "Pop" [ALL] would pick all music tagged with Pop (aswell as other tags included) but "Pop" [ONLY] would pick all music tagged with only

Most tag editors will allow you to put whatever you want in the genre field, so you could put 'pop, electronic' if you wanted to but I'm not sure how media portal handles this situation, whether it treats it as one genre or multiple genres as it's not something I use very often.
