Hi,

I've had the above system working fine until I upgraded my CPU to a amd 64 x2 5000 2.7ghz

Now I'm unable to scan channels and getting the unable to graph device.

tried removing and reinstalling MP using both stable and svns :(

I'm thinking it might be a rebuild of the box.

anyone had any similar experience ?

Make sure you have the amd dual core optimizer installed.

Not sure why a cpu upgrade should lose the T500 tuning capabilities but...

The nova-t is detected and I've tried hwclear and a reinstall. Even tried changing pci slots.

Should have also mentioned that vista mediacentre errors saying the cards not there or not installed properly.

whats this dual core optimizer thing? is it OS or mediaportal specific?

is it OS or mediaportal specific?

It needs to be installed for the cores to work correctly when near idling, side effects are mainly stuttering video, but there are other side effects been reported as well without it.

With a major upgrade like processor or motherboard might be time for reinstall, as this does change a lot of settings within windows itself.

Sorry not to sound to optimistic, but does not sound good, if you have tried what you said you have done, that just about covers it all.

I'll try and do a repair first but if things are still shagged I'll rebuild tonight.

I have a suspician that the .net install is corrupt after seeing a few errors.

Thanks for the tip about the optimizer.

Deep down I'm happy somethings messed up. Gives me an excuse to poke about instead of watching 1.5 hours of soaps with the wife :D

Just to close this one off.

Reinstalled everything including OS and all is good now.

    Cheers
