Just to give a very short background, I only started HTPC mid Dec (2015), and I have never tried any of this stuff before.
I'm decent-ish with basic PC standalone hardware so I made myself a good system, now to get it working the way I want.

I tried MP1 to start with, got a little frustrated when I tried to do too many different settings at once and then uninstalled and went to MP2. Used MP2 but then thought it doesn't seem to have as much functionality as MP1. So MP2 was uninstalled and then back to MP1. This time I took it very slowly and got to the know MP1 and then each separate plugin/extension slowly. Now I am much more familiar with MP1 and realise it's capabilities.

I went through and got all of my Movies renamed with the IMDB-ID within the filenames, and made sure all of my series as named directly from TheTVDB. This is the only effort I have applied to creating files that should be recognisable.

Although I am comfortable-ish with MP1, I actually want to move to MP2 so that I have a solid foundation with it and grow with it as MP2 grows.

I understand not all series/films can be recognised 100% accurately from ONLY being named directly from TheTVDB and in these cases .nfo should help.
Which software would you recommend using, that is ultra easy to use for creating .nfo files? Would this software work for Movies and TVSeries?
Any other considerations?

    Hi.
You can use various tools like TinyMediamanager or Ember Media Manager. Personally I'm using MKV-Buddy as I've written it to perfectly fit my needs. Also the name might suggest, MKV-Buddy can create .nfo files for nearly any type of video, not only MKV. If you want to give it a try I'm glad to help you, if you have issues getting it to work as expected... Link is in my signature.

For crating .nfo I would recommend tinyMediaManager. It can create .nfo's for movies and TV series and is very intuitive :)
The .nfo that tinyMediaManager creates, is it reliable and will include all of the info that MP2 requires? Can you give me a a very quick summary of how to create just the .nfo file from tMM please?

I did give it a try but sometimes it created .nfo and other times it didnt? I will try again and see how I get on. Thank you.

    Yes.

The author of tMM has provided a very good documentation on github. I think you would better do a quick reading on his wiki page then follow my copy-pase guide ;) Basically after starting tMM you can figure it out by yourself as it has nice and clean GUI.
