Custom Data Grabber including Sky UK Channel/EPG Grabber (6 Viewers)

I know why this is happening I changed the TVLibrary so the EPG could be updated faster on the first run. I'll upload it later.

Any chance of uploading this when you get a minute? Or does it need work still?

I'm using 1.2.0.7 grabber, because 1.2.0.6 kept crashing, but have had to disable grabber for now on 1.2.0.7 because that causes probs too!

I am making changes to the TVLibrary so Freesat Series Link works and I am also adding a new Custom grabber method(one without need for a channel to be stored). I'd like to keep major changes to a minimum so I'll be uploading it when I am certain it won't cause any problems.

Fair enough mate. 1.2.0.5 has been working OK here for the past week, 1.2.0.6 gives me those strange issues I reported earlier.

Take a look in the Cards/Mappings, make sure you have selected the cards you wish to use. Deleted the channel that has been stored in the database and then run the scan again.

I think that I did what you suggested. Pls Tell me if this is what you meant:
I have cleared the channels database, selected the TV card and performed a new scan from 28.2o. As before, the TV channels preview properly. However I am getting the same error using the plugin:
"error occurred: Error. Try deleting the Sky UK Grabber channel and ensure Mapping i..."

Clear all channels.

In the plugin itself there is a Tab "Cards/Mapping". In there select the cards you wish to use.

You don't need to scan 28.2 before using the plugin.

Click grab.

It's in the help file on the second post.

I might be doing something fundamentally wrong, bu this is still not working
In the "Cards/Mapping" tab, the only TV card I have is selected. No issues there so

Before clicking at "Grab" I have tried:
-to clear all the channels in TV config
-to clear all the channels in TV config and then do a 28.2 rescan
-to delete manually the Sky Channel Grabber Settings (Frequency, Symbol Rate, Transport ID,Service ID,Polarisation, Modulation)

What Am I doing wrong? The channels preview properly in TV config

Which is 1.2.0.5? I'm struggling with 1.2.0.6 and 1.2.0.7 - keep getting crashes, and when I look at the logs, the last entries are to do with EPG grabbing it seems.. So I guess I'll try 1.2.0.5 and hope that fixes the issue!

Ignore, my TS Writer and plugin were the same as the ones in that RAR file. I just replaced the grabber plugin with that one.. Will see how I get on

I've just moved from Windows Media Centre 7 over to Meidaportal and have been using this plugin (main reason why I moved as wmc7 epg is gone to the pits) anyways i could not for the life of me get 1.2.07 working 1.2.0.6 worked but kept leaving loads of channells out I tried loads of different regions as well. Then last night I found out something really strange if I kept moving the mouse when it was scanning it picked up 432 channels but if I did'nt I was only getting 80. Really looking forward to the next release of this djblu is done something people have been trying to do for years in different ways he deserves major kudos

In case it helps, I have attached the a pic of the error I am getting using freesat's plugin.
I also wanted to check if the sky plugin was at least trying to grab some channels. It does try. The error pic is also attached

pjuegos - I don't know what is happening with your Freesat, I am getting the same error but I didn't play with it much as I was wanting to use the Sky grabber. I also had channels pre-existing in my setup which I think might be the cause. With regards to the Sky grabber. The 1.2.0.7 version has the issue you are seeing (I had this problem). I am now using 1.2.0.5 (I think) which was linked to by wonkyd. Just take the Sky grabber from that Plugins.rar file and replace with the one in the instructions at the start of this thread and it should then work.

I have a couple of separate problems and I am not sure of the cause...

The replacing of standard def channels (BBC1, ITV1 and Channel 4) with high def channels didn't work on my system. The HD channels (apart from ITV1) were added to the high def channel group though so I am not sure what is going on there...?

There are some channels that don't get mapped to groups at all using the Sky grabber, these are un-ticked so do not appear in the EPG too. Is this because they are not channels you would get if you had a Sky subscription but Freesat ones instead? - Note I have removed the encrypted ones that I can't decrypt so these are FTV channels.

That's normal, the swap is based on Sky's information and PSB (BBC 1, 2, ITV1 etc) will not be swapped for HD versions for regional reasons.

Okay that's fine. I think I understand what your saying and why. What would I expect it to do then? Would it only swap for non regional channels?
