Custom Data Grabber including Sky UK Channel/EPG Grabber (5 Viewers)

I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my main HTPC to Windows 8 and MP 1.3 Beta. It was surprisingly straightforward and problem free, but I'm still getting the no data problem with Channel 4 +1, E4 +1 and More4.

Is there is a fix for this? Is it a region specific bug? (My region is set as NW)

I have just yesterday dropped my database and rescanned channels and setup me guide the way i want it and those channels all work fine here, have both guide data and live tv no problems, guide is available till next saturday.

think the reason i was having problems with skipping tv and connection problems to tv server may have been down to me upgrading to .459 setup files and not dropping my database and redoing my channels, especially as itv 1 hd changed to itv hd which the older version didnt seem to like.

Still dont know what those nit error are all about but at present with the limited time ive had everything else seems to be working well again.

I think I also have the same issue as spacemanc (also mentioned in post 1770). After a few days I start to get duplicate entries for Channel4 and all it's related channels (E4, More4 etc.). Neither of the duplicates have program data but the original entries do. I use the England (BBC) / Midlands (ITv) region.

It was mentioned in post 1770 that the problem was fixed once but had crept back in, is there any further news on this?

As this is my 1st post I would just like to voice my appreciation to the developers for their efforts and to the forum in general as I'd have never got my setup working without the information contained in here...

Tbs branch is obsolete, there is a new branch called exp tuner hardware.

It's experimental and depends on your tuner and I believe it to be unstable

If you just require the faster change code I believe it works with no stability issues here (eg tbs 6984 and tbs 6981)

What tbs tuner do you have?

I have noticed that channel changes take much longer since "upgrading" to 1.3beta and Win8. I'm using a TBS 6981, and I'm using the .18 driver which I believe is the fastest one. It would be great to get back the fast speeds I was getting with 1.2.3.

Once I've fixed the channel 4 data bugs and the channel change speed, then I can hopefully I can stop messing with MePo again for a few months!

Oh one other very slight bug (well more of a minor annoyance) - when navigating around the TV guide there is an occasional flicker. When using the mouse it's very noticeable, but when using the remote, it just tends to be when moving from say the schedule to the categories.

Anyway to fix this? (I'm using the StreamedMP skin if thats any help)

ok getting a lot of connection lost to tv server errors and mepo client running on my single seat install froze up completely today and the other day. Is this related to the plugin or is it something to do with 1.3 beta?
Today when mepo froze i could still get too my windows desktop so not hardware related and when i closed mepo via task manager (because mepo was not responding) and then tried to reopen mepo it was not happy at all and refused to connect to the tv server and the tv server refused to start up again.
I restarted the computer and the problems still persist any idea as to where to start with finding the issue?

error today was around 16.00 uk time while i was watching itv hd live (liverpool v oldham)

logs now attached.

ok when i start the tv config and look at manual control i see the plugin sky uk grabber grabbing epg, then it stops doing that after a few seconds and starts timeshifting all by itself and then the tv service stops itself within a few seconds and i have to manually start it again?
This is now happening constantly and i can no longer use tv side of mepo due to this constant error? something must have gone astray somewhere, is it a code error or ??
When i did the update to the newest version i dropped the tv database completely and started a fresh.
Help! Please.

I did try looking at this plugin a while back but had a bit for trouble getting it up and running but see now that I did not follow the instructions properly.

As a long term user of Miroslav's plugin, I was just checking that this version is an improvement of what I am currently using.

Am I correct in thinking that rather than purely populating the EPG from the Sky stream and then allowing me to put the channels in any order I want, this version of the plugin automatically searches for any additional channels and then keeps them in the same order as Sky uses?

Done a database repair will now see how things go, fingers crossed it will show some improvement.

Yes, it will basically mimic a sky boxes epg, channel numbers, group names etc, update channel details and remove old ones

You can disable the numbers to use your own

i was having tv server issues and someone pointed me in the direction of trying a database repair, maybe this will help you and cant hurt to try it
