"custom" recordings in MP. (1 Viewer)

Hello everybody,

Here is a user from Canary Islands (Spain).

As I said before, I'm a user of MediaPortal for a couple of years and everyday I use it I still feel surprised about this wonderful and great software.

But I like to make a question hoping someone could help me (or answer me) XD. It's about making "custom" recordings in MP. I don't know how to set (if it's possible) the starting and finishing times when scheduling a record. For example, just imagine now it's 10:00 and I want to set a record from 10:25 to 10:40, how can I do that in MP?.

The "record now" feature is not able to set the finish time, but you have to stop the record manually, if I'm not wrong, so it doesn't useful to me.

Of course, I don't want to use the guide nor the preset modes like record once, from Monday to Friday, once a week, etc.

I think this must be a basic recording feature.

Try this plugin. It is much loved as it allows great control of recordings. It can do what you want and much more.

NOTE that MePo 1.1.0 final has just been released, and For The Record has not yet been updated to reflect this change. The present version of FTR won't work with 1.1.0 final (yet). Devs will be updating it soon...

...or if you just can't wait, you can "patch" FTR yourself, but you have to figure out where to put the .dll files. (Search...)

Thank you Larzon, I did'nt know about it, it looks nice and powerful! I'll try it, but I have MP 1.1.0 (RC4 I think) so I hope it will work.

Hi mazinger,

As far as I understand, you don't need any extra's for this: it's just part of MP
From your home screen, go to TV -> Scheduled (menu, bottom) -> New -> Quick or Advanced record and let yourself go.

BTW: you can upgrade from your RC4 to the final release.

You'll see, have a lot of time using MP, but when you think you've seen every option and setting on it, then you realize that there are some of them you didn't know... like this one!!!!

Well, I've been taken a look to the option you mentioned, and it's very close to the one I requested but I think it's not exactly the same, because I think you cannot set the finishing time, instead you have intervals of time (1 hour, 2 hours, etc), well anyway it's better than the other way I knew.
