using the latest version of daemon tools to mount .iso files and it works good in that i pulls up the default player and plays. however, when i hit stop it simply stops the movie but the player remains on the screen and i cant be rid of it...

any suggestions or help?

Well, I guess it depends on what you want.

What happens when an image is mounted by Daemon Tools is that Windows picks it up and spawns the default player. To let MP handle the playing, you have two choices (that I know of, that is ;)):

Either disable autoplay of DVDs in windows (by doing this nothing will be spawned neither if you put in a physical dvd nor mount an .iso), or

Disable auto-insert notification for the unit in daemon tools (which of course only affects mounted images).

If you for some reason wish to use an external player instead, I don't know. I suppose it's either up to the program spawned to support the remote or you could try autohotkey as used in the thread about playing BD .

okay, so i have tried every option combination i can think of and still get the black block of the player after i hit stop on the remote.
this isnt the way it should be. i have to restart mediaportal to have it go away.

SO, does anyone know why playing ISO's would keep the damn player up and black after you hit the stop button???

i am using Vista 32, clean install, daemon tools lite - latest version, RC4.

thanks

so after much f ing around with this.
if i hit stop - stop - back - back - and the mediacenter button on my remote i will be back in MP with no black screen stuck in the middle of the MP screen. if i minimize MP, WMP is still open on the desktop.

neat huh?

i cant figure out why MP never closes when playing .vob or .iso mounts, so I guess i will continue on with this workaround until someone can offer some advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

at least it now works...i guess

I don't think this has anything to do with WMP (as far as I can see).

I uninstalled previous versions (RC3, including svn svn20683) using cleanup option and installed 1.0.
After configuring I ended up the same, after playback of iso (with builtin player) I end up with a black screen.

Did not happen in RC's I was using, but given all the fuzz reconfiguring, I passed for the last RC.

So why is this happening, and more important, how can we kill the player elegantly?

Thanks!

I have looked more into it, in my case this thread gave me the solution:

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...eo_ts-playback-black-screen-after-stop-49549/

In config - Direct Show Filter Control - Video Renderer Settings, the default appears to be EVR, switching to VMR9 solves this problem.

I'm not to deep into what setting is better, for now I stick to this one.
This also is a known bug (don't know how it will be fixed in the next release).

Good luck with changing your setup!
