I've posted about it in the past here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mp_doesnt_remember_last_used_view_my-t27390.html after that i've deleted  ALL MY DATABASE and now it fails again. Take a look at attached log. Using SQL Lite Browser the query works fine

Ok, but why there is not an automated backup system in MP to prevent this? i think that it could be easy to implement. If MP makes a copy for each database every time that it runs, then when there is a failure the app only needs to ask the user about restoring the previous version... this could save a lot of headaches

    Hi,
First of all don't blame MP if it's a 3'rd party plugin which it's causing this(that we don't know yet), usually they have a own db & doesn't harm. Try to find out what causing this & lets see, maybe only it is a missplaced file who knows?

Yeah we could have had that, but then ppl would moan about the size MP uses when you have several backup's of db's which fills up hdd space ;)

Well, may be that backup option should be added as optional into the configurator. And about the crash, well, i understand that may be mp is not the problem, but i only wanted to inform for every problem that i've encountered using it, also i think that my idea could help a lot of people with simmilar problem (even if it's caused by a third party plugin or codecs, etc) ;)

    no, i've other plugins...
well...... and which would that be then? :p

furthermore, are you sure that your HDD is okay? i have seen such caused by a "breaking/broken" HDD quite some time ago.

i am not using any community plugins, and didnt had a db issue since ~1 year :)
so, which plugins do you use there?

i've been investigating a bit. My HDD works perfectly, but i'm having some issues recently with latest version of ffdshow, by a extrange reason that i don't know, when i try to play a movie encoded with xvid or even mp3 files, my system crashes with no other messages and then it reboots. This seems to be related with my onboard soundcard, because if i use the other PCI card that i've (E-Mu 0404 PCI) it works fine. I'm thinking that this could cause the database corruption due to a unexpected restart, i'm not sure..

And about the plugins, i use: My films, Online Videos plugin, MPlayer plugin, Screensaver plugin, Generic Remote/keyboard plugin and Worldmap. And of course mp plugins that comes with standard installation.

    regards,

a "crash" or hard reboot with WindowsXP running can always cause very bad issues. i.e. WinXP nolonger starting in the worst case.
afaik. SQl-db's do not like such crashes that much.
but you should definitly try MP without any community plugins, because its also very likely that these cause the problems.
