I used the Firefox plugin 'SQLite Manager'. After you add this plug in, you use it by clicking 'tools/SQLite manager'. Then open the 'movingpictures.db3' file in the Mediaportal/database folder. In the program's database menu, there is an option 'check integrity'. I had to go back a few generations before I found one that passed - I didn't find any way of fixing the database.
