Hi Guys,

im using mediaportal with the streamedmp-skin. I got all my movies in Moving Pictures, which works great.

But i got one Problem:

I imported most of my Blu-Ray Movies into Moving Pictures which worked great. The movies where marked removable (Title in Red Color in the Plugin-Configuration). But a couple of days ago i noticed, all my imported Blu-Rays were gone. I just had my dvd-iso files and so on (all things which are on the hdd, and because of that not marked removable) in the database.

I dont have a Problem to rescan all the Blu-Rays into Moving PIctures, but since i own about 300 pieces i want to be sure they dont get deleted again.

Does anyone have an idea why they could be gone?

Thanks for any ideas!

That's very odd and I am very sorry to hear you had to reimport your movies. Only advice I can give is make sure you keep your database backed up and if it happens again post the log files from when it happens. You may want to put logging in debug mode as well, preemptively so that if it DOES happen again we have more to work with from your logs.
:sorry:

Hi fforde,

thanks for your quick reply!

Yes youre right. Backup would have been good :)

So im gone reimport them and then do a backup.

If they should disappear again, ill post and include the logs (and will change logging to debug).

Could it have happened after a changed Driveletter from the BR-Drive? For example if i have imported the movies when the drive was "D:" and the letter got changed to "E:". Could that be the cause?

Im not sure if the drive had another letter for a short time, but i played around a lot on the htpc...

Yeah I think changing drive letters could have possibly caused the problem. I will ask armandp, he wrote this logic. If this is indeed the case maybe we can schedule an enhancement to prevent something like this. With optical media like this it really shouldn't matter what drive letter is attached.

Hmm it might have something to do with the fact that the drive letter change causes a "hidden" import path (all optical drive paths are added but not seen by the user) removal, in turn causing all attached movies to be removed.

okay thanks for the info. if i changed the letter and didnt start MP or the MP config until i changed the letter back to the original one it shouldnt be a problem, right?
