ok, I installed latest media portal rc

I cant login to the ms sql server. It says user name is sa, but what is the pass word?

Also, I have mysql logging in, but it gives me cant create database error, cant connect to socket.

So what am I to do?

found this, but that password does not work, says not associated with a trusted sql server connection.

looking at this, it says 'told you to write it down'
It was an automated install, I was never presented with any password selection or display

So now is it require a total uninstall?
And I suppose even that will not work.

I completely uninstalled media portal, tv database and sql server 2005

What do I do now?
If I reinstall, will I see a password prompt or a display on a form saying this is the password?

MediaPortal is the password, and its case sensitive, so make sure you put in the capitals.

The problem is that the authentication mode is set to Windows Authentication only, probably when you already have sql server installed. You have to go to the management console and activate mixed mode.

I had the same problem and this solved the issue for me.

NOTE that when you already have the db installed the password will be whatever you set it up as to begin with rather than MediaPortal.
