Default View and Rescan Settings (1 Viewer)

I recently upgraded to Moving Pictures 1.3.1.1350 and a couple of settings don't seem to work.

1. In the GUI settings tab of setup, I can set the Default View to anything, but it always starts in List View. I can go into the settings menu once I'm viewing a movie and change the view to "Fanart" (or any other view and it works that one time. Howver, when I re-start, it is always back to List View. Why won't the Default View in the configuration stick? This setting worked for me in the version I was running before.

2. I have also set the "Allow user to trigger a full re-scan from the GUI context menu" checkbox. However, when running Moving Pictures, I don't see that option in the menu. I never used this setting in the previous version, but noticed I was missing a bunch of movies since they were on a server and MP wasn't finding them sometimes.

Any suggestions woudl be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,.

You can configure a default view per category level as well, are you sure those are set correctly? Open MovPic config -> GUI Settings -> Define Movie Categories -> select each view and verify that "Show movies in" is set to 'Parent view' or 'Last Used View', otherwise it always overrules the default setting.

Did you check both hidden menu (left arrow on most skins) and context menu (F9)?

And are you sure the missing movies weren't simply waiting for manual approval inside the MovPic config screen, because your scraper could not find a proper match? Launch MovPic config otherwise and check to see if any movies are waiting for approval in the default opened import tab. You can also try a more agressive scraper solution such as IMDb+ to find more matches.

This can all also be viewed via the log file, especially when configured into debug mode.

Ah, didn't realize that the category and view were tied together. Got that one fixed. Thanks!

The movies were not waiting in the importer. From what I understand, I should always get a good match, as I am always putting the IMDB "tt" number of each movie in the title in parenthesis - something like movie_name(tt1234567).mkv.

I deleted the MP database and just re-imported and they all cam in fine. Also, still can't find the directory re-scan option in the program. I did F9 and see all the options, but nothing to re-scan the watched folder. I am using the StreamedMP skin with Moving Pictures.

    Thanks for the help!

Try default, sometimes a skin has to be modified to support new features and with as many things that sometimes get added it is easy for a 3rd party skin developer to overlook some new feature. However the developer(s) of the plugin itself take care of the Default/DefaultWide skins, so anything new is for sure going to be supported via those.

Then if you can locate the function there, you simply verify you have the current StreamedMP skin version installed, or make a forum post on their section to request they fix it :)
