After around 13 years, catavolt and High_Five - our new colleague in the design team - have decided to completely overhaul the DefaultWideHD skin.
The aim was to give the skin a fresh, modern look without changing the familiar look and feel too much.
After three months of intensive work, we would like to present the result to you with MP 1.37 Pre Release. Not released yet, release pending!
The most important new features in brief:

• Plugin-specific background images in the BasicHome screen, most of which are AI-generated. The display of these images can be activated/deactivated in the skin settings.
• Completely redesigned TV EPGs with 10, 12, 15, 18 or 24 lines, adjustable in the skin settings
• Customisation of all plugin screens for a uniform display
• In particular, the many new graphics from High_Five (buttons, menu frames, etc.) ensure a harmonious overall picture
• Correction of many display errors / bugs

I've got an "OldEyes" mod I've been using with 1.36, but will have to re-do for 1.37. It was based on DWHD from several versions back. It only has changes to screens I actually use. It required lots of background adaptations to allow font size and line spacing changes, with some text box width changes. All the text was upscaled at least 5 font sizes. My TV Guide requires a maximum of 9 lines (would prefer 8 to reduce crowding)

I have been using your "OldEyes" mod for quite some time (THANK YOU), but i now find the movie titles difficult to see anymore.

Sorry for seeming to hijack the thread. Here are some adjustments to the earlier "OldEyes". Just copy the contents of the folder into your OldEyesWideHD skin folder, replacing the xml's. Let me know if I'm on the right track. There are a few things I had to skip over (primarily textXOff to add space between leading icons and text in "album view list control") because I couldn't immediately get the results I wanted. I only changed screens I actually use, and haven't checked for issues I might have created in other screens with the font size changes. I hope this might help catavolt if he chooses to make additional fixes based on the new DWHD (If I can't get to it fast enough). It only applies to the "Horizontal Text only" Layout chosen from the BasicHome Editor, and may likely mess up Carousel and Horizontal (scroll) Layouts.

This is working for me in MP 1.36. If you want to play with it, you can make a copy of the DWHD skin folder (from at least MP 1.33 up to 1.36), rename it to OldEyesWideHD and copy the xmls from the zipped folder to replace the xmls in the skin's root directory.

All the screens that I use seem to work and looked fine with the larger font in "Horizontal Text only" in list view which is the view I use. I will check screens in the other views in the plugins I use to see if I see any problems with the larger font.

The font size makes the titles easier to see, I noticed that the watched videos which change color to white were far easier to read than the yellow unwatched videos. Could you change the font color to white in the title bar that shows the selected title at the top of the screen please?

Sorry. I seem to had destroyed my TVServer functionality (and have yet, all day, not gotten it working) I will try to get a good look at the new DWHD tomorrow. Then I'll begin to try to redo it for the Old Men.
