Hello,

I updated my development system to windows 8.1 including upgrade to Visual Studio 2013 update 3. I follow the getting started instructrom from media portal documentation.

http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_.../Building_MediaPortal_from_source/1_Git_Setup

But I am not able to get the media portal code compiled with the new system environment.

I get error, that all the "Microsoft.DirectX" includes could not be resolved.

I installed the "Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) für Windows 8.1": http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/windows/desktop/bg162891.aspx

Do I have to install or set some more environment tools to compile the source on windows 8.1?

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Sonny

    Hello Sonny

You need to at least set the DXSDK_DIR environment variable. I'm not sure if it is necessary to also have the last separate version of the DirectX SDK installed.
