im new to media software and having some trouble. after a couple hours of trial and error i finally got a few movies in the library with all the details. the database for movie covers and description is great. thought i had it figured out until i played a movie. it will play back a movie but like after a preview or something i will have to fastforward before the next preview will begin. on one movie i had no sound for the previews but the main menu had sound but no picture. i started clicking all over the screen trying to find the play button and ended up in directors com. which had sound and picture then clicked back to the main menu to which now had sound and picure. then when i play the movie there is no sound again and sometime long pauses between titles. i started out using default decoders and then switched to nero decoders but there was no change. i also tried using an external player (nero showtime) but still no change. but when i play the movie in just nero and not through media portal everything is fine. for now im currently using my everyday desktop pc to figure out this software but im currently building a theatre in my home and plan to build a htpc in the near future. i can build a pc but you guys are way over my head on this so if you could help me out in simple terms that would be great. its a cool program if i can just figure it out.

im now a registered user... the audio problem was a simple fix, wasnt updated like i thought it was. but still having the same problems with the video. its like some chapters/files will play and some wont. one chapter wont play but i can skip to the next and it will.. i believe everything works when i use an external player but i cant figure out how to get the playback to start in full screen. if i use windows media player as the external the video actually starts and plays fine but i have to switch it to full screen which is an eyesore. if anyone can give me some tips/specifics or some freeware to get the video going that would be great. like i said im not real smart with codecs and decoders etc. yet so any help would be appreciated. i want to figure this out before i build a htpc. im using xp pro, gforce 6600 in this pc if that helps at all.
