Difficulty setting up channel for composite input (1 Viewer)

I have a Hauppauge HVR-150, but no matter what settings I try in MediaPortal I am unable to get it to recognise input on the composite port... I have tried setting default CVBS channels up in the setup program to no avail. All my usual channels work perfectly, but I cannot get MediaPortal to look at my composite port. If someone could give me a step by step to getting this working I would be extremely grateful.

Can you get Composite working on the Hauppauge application? How about with MP -- ARE you able to tune regular TV in the 150? Assuming you can, getting video to display should be no issue. if you can't then it could be an issue with the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file, but barring that... Verify the settings on the last tab of CaptureCard of Television in the MP Configuration app. Be sure the HVR-150 has the composite input configured. THEN go to channel setup and click the add CVBS button and wait for the entry to apear in the channels listing. Then double-click that entry to edit its last tab where it states External input, and select the correct CVBS input (I don't know if the 150 does composite, S-video or more). That should be it. Close the MPconfiguration and try it. Open MP, select TV and tune to that new channel.

Composite does work in the Hayppage application, but in MP I can't get it to see anything... normal channels are working fine in MediaPortal, but when I add CVBS I get nothing at all, annoyingly.

I'll try checking my setup options again, but I'm fairly sure they're all ok...

Hi All,

Have you managed to overcome this problem? I seem to have a very similar issue....

I have Hauppage PVr-150 MCE and it does exactly the same thing....

I only view TV on my PC from my external sat box (SKY+ UK) via the PVR-150 using the composite video input.

it works fine in Hauppage TV app on CVBS but when I set up in media portal I see no tv picture.

In media portal I've set the tv channel to CVBS and also set the channel to pick up from my external box via the correct CVBS port on my card...
but still nothing...

any ideas?

I'm getting a little frustrated
I've set this up whilst testing on SageTV / MCE / BeyondTV etc etc and all worked fine with TV via CVBS...
It would be a real shame if it doesn't work as I've tested every piece of Media Server software out there and I think compared to all the above that Media Portal is simply FANTASTIC.

So please help so I can stay with MP
