Hello all. Can i use the digital cable box provided by my cable company (comcast) to receive premium channels such as HBO, showtime, ect ect.

I just built my media pc and my specs are as follows:

AMD phenom Quad cpu
3 gigs ram OCZ reaper at 1150 MHz
gforce 8800 gts card
TUNER CARD - Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 (hybrid card)

Also how do i get a channel line up?

Thanks all,
Michael

you need to use channel 3 or whatever your box outputs to. than change channels by the digital box, while maintaining channel 3 on mediaportal

For the lineup in the US, I recommend Schedules Direct. It's not free, it's $15 per year. But with a Schedules Direct lineup and the Schedules Direct plugin, EPG is really easy to get going.

There's a 7 day free trial to get started and try it out.

The unstated part of ep0n's reply is to use the IR blaster that probably came with your card to change channels. I'd use the cable directly plugged into the card for the unencrypted channels, and the IR blaster and cable box only for the encrypted.
