A category or forum specifically for listing channels by area would be handy - "TV tuning information" or something.

Lots of people are having problems auto-tuning, and Ive seen people asking for this information in various places on this site - and others. In fact, there doesnt seem to be anywhere on the net I can get this information.

If the posts were moderated properly, it could be kept very tidy.

Eventually, the information could be made in to XML and hosted on the site, which could then be picked up during installation - so that you didnt even have to tune your TV - you could just select your location.

My channels are not all working as yet, but once they are, I will post the information for the Oxford, UK MUX.

    Dudes,

I have sent Frodo all the frequencies etc for the Mux's around the world.
It's broken down by country, then region and then sub region.

For example for me in the NW of England using the Winter Hill Mux I would then choose the UK, England and then Winter Hill.
If I did not know which Mux was for my area I would then choose England.
Only the frequencies used in England would then be scanned to save scanning time.
Sunsequently if I had used Winter Hill only the five frequencies required would be scanned.

Hopefully he'll put it into a xml file and leverage it.

It includes countries such as Taiwan where their bandwidth is 6 vs 7 in Aus and 8 across most of Europe.

And why oh why did you post it under Website/Forum Feedback???

    I put it there because...

With the idea that the data could eventually be used in MP directly. What you have sounds as though you just have the frequencies... when I actually need all the channel info. If not, then its perfect and we dont have to send in our data.

Dont suppose you could send me the Oxford info while were waiting?

Erm if you have decent reception and the cable to your DVB-T card is of high quality (Digital certified) then you'll receive all the channels on offer in your region.

Check out Freeview.co.uk for the channels in your area. (Post Code search)

No I cannot give you the channels to insert into the DB manually as I live in a different region.
    Here are the Oxford Mux's...

    578000, 850000, 714000, 722000, 690000, 538000

Just remove what you don't need from dvb.xml for now.

It will be a nightmare to manage all of the DB files btw.

The best thing to do is to fix tuning if it's a problem for you.
i.e. Does your supplied BDA application tune AOK and get all of the channels?
If so post the info and maybe BionicDonkey and Frodo can try and work it out.

Manually adding the channels may work - but if tuning is working how it should then you'll probably find that the program will tend to cut out alot - if it shows at all.

    DMAN.
