Direct to MP command from Remote (1 Viewer)

I have following problem.
I use my computer as computer and HTPC in same time. One dvi exit to monitor another one to TV, for MP I have M-Play remote control which I can setup how to translate command to system.
When someone is working on computer and MP is running in same time, if I need to control MP, I have to swich task to MP, this means that work with computer has to be stop for this time. This is main inconvenience for MP.

Is it any way to send command from system(remote) directly to MP?

For example I can define for remote, that button "Play" instead of keyboard "P" will do system command xxxx, and this command will go directly to MP. Or I can define to run application with parameter xxxx "play".

If you can make your remote software send windows messages then you could use the Message Plugin to control MediaPortal. This should do what you want.

You can find the Message Plugin in the site plugin download section, if you have any trouble let me know. I haven't updated the plugin for while, so I'm not 100% sure it still works with recent versions of MediaPortal.

Due to the hardware design of the M-Play hardware (a single serial-to-usb adapter that controls both the display and the remote hardware)... The only way (currently) to translate the remote input from the unit to MediaPortal actions is to use the CybrDisplay plugin with the VLSys_Mplay driver... The driver takes control of the M-Play hardware when MediaPortal starts, displays MediaPortal status on the display and translates the remote input into MediaPortal actions, and (optionally) returns control of the hardware to the VLSystems software when MediaPortal actions. The remote input translation into MediaPortal commands is configurable from within the driver's advanced configuration in the same manner as with any of the built-in remotes.

Aaron, can you explain me more how to send windows message to plugin. In my M.Play software I can setup System command or Keyboard or Application run.

Cybrmage, I tried CybrDisplay Plugin, it says "unable to open port 378" (((((.
