DirectX 9.0c installed but MP2 won't recognise it (1 Viewer)

Completely new to MP... downloaded the MP2 Summer '15 edition.... tried to install... tells me DirectX 9.0C is not installed. Went to Microsoft and installed it. tried again. Same error. Went to MP help and found a link to install DirectX. Did that. Tried to install MP, same error. I've rebooted several times and no change.

Don't really know what to do now if the installer can't see that DirectX is already installed - or alternatively I'm being stupid ;-)!!! Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is it possible that your hardware - in particular, your video/graphics card (GPU) - is not DirectX capable?

Please list your system specifications....

OK.... seems to be an Nvidia Geforce GT 420M. The machine is an Acer laptop, i5 CPU with 4GB of RAM.[DOUBLEPOST=1437280972][/DOUBLEPOST]OK - weird... my apologies for wasting your time... I just downloaded Direct again and reinstalled it... apparently last time hadn't worked! So I was being stupid then :-(.
