Disabling TV Recording capability (1 Viewer)

Hello. I'm new to the use of MediaPortal and wanted to ask a quick question about it here.

The system that I intend to install it on will be a retailed product which has both tv and computer capabilities, however this system will be very limited in it's memory meaning that the recording tv functionality of MediaPortal will be quite too much.

I was wondering is there any possible way to remove this one particular option from MediaPortal's functionality? If not can anyone sggest another media platform similar to MediaPortal which does not incorporate the option to record TV or perhaps the ability to disable this option?

Hi,

Presumably you can edit the skin files to remove the record buttons and relevant skin elements linking from EPG?

you would also have to remove the keyboard / remote shortcuts

And after that you will have to provide the modified source code under GPL license for users and MP developers to access at some form
