Hi guys,

Finally I had time to play with my new system, so I installed MediaPortal. Now I wanted to scan all channels, but there's a problem... I have 4 LNB's on my dish connected to a diseqc 4/1 switch. Hooked up to my VU+Duo it works with settings like this:

But when I connect it to my Digital Devices Cine S2 v6, then diseqc doesn't seem to work. When I do a channel scan on Astra 19.2 (which is on Port 4, so BB in the settings of MediaPortal), it always scans Port 1 (AA) which is Astra 28.2. I tried it with different parameters, but it always scans port 1.

How can I troubleshooot this? Any suggestions?

    Hi Cybex2

It looks like you're using a DiSEqC 1.1 switch with uncommitted commands so you might be out of luck. MediaPortal only supports DiSEqC 1.0 (4 port) switches with committed commands at this time...

You can troubleshoot by supplying us with the logs:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory" in the top left hand corner.
    3. Zip up all the files you find there.
    4. Post the zip file here.

    Hi again,

I attached the log files, I really appriciate it that you take time to help me.

Is it only MP that doesn't work with 1.1? Can I test it with other software if it works or not? I have no problem purchasing a Diseqc 1.0 switch, but I need to know if that's the problem. I will go outside later today to check what kind of switch I have, I have no clue at the moment.

    Hi Cybex2

    I'm happy to help. :)

Other software does support DiSEqC 1.1, although I'm not sure if they support it with the Cine S2. Unfortunately in the past Microsoft failed to define a DiSEqC interface for tuner drivers to support. This resulted in each manufacturer (like DD) creating their own DiSEqC interface. What that means is that MP (and all other DVB/HTPC software) has to add DiSEqC support for each manufacturer's interface. You could try DVBViewer, ProgDVB or DVBDream...

I just went outside to have a look. It's a Spaun sur 420 switch, so it's diseqc 1.1 indeed. I have another dish with 4/1 hanging and I believe it has 1.0, so I'll switch them both to see what happens :)

Changed diseqc switches and doing a channel scan on 19.2 Astra only... Waiting to see what happens, I'll edit this message once I have results :)

EDIT: YES!! It works now. Thank you mm for pointing me in the right direction!
