This seems like a newbish question, but how do I find out the correct DiSEqC setting for my satellite dish? I used only trial and error for the channel scan and selected SimpleA, since 'none' didn't work, and everything seems ok... but still..

I am in the same boat.

I have a motorised setup, but also do not have a clue about how to set up the diseqc.

Any help in setting up a motorised setup in MP would be greatly appreciated. (I checked the tutorials and could not find anything)

    Cheers

MP doesnt work with my diseqc switch. Infact, it messes it up some how. I ran dvbdream no problem with my diesqc but as soon as I use MP, dvbdream no longer gets a signal. I have to rescan all my channels to correct the issue. I get no channel scans in MP with my dieqc.

u haveo end the TVService service 1st and ten other dvb software will work.

Hi All. I am another new guy. I have 2 dishes, both with Quad LNB (19.2 and 28.2). I don't try to do clever stuff with them, except join them into 4 cable runs with with four 4 - > 1 static version 2 DiSEqC switches, ending up with four cables running to two PCs and two TV tuners. I use DVBDream and ProgDVB and DVBDream on the PCs. I use both applications on the PCs because DVBDream is flexible but loses its settings and Prog DVB is the other way around !!!

DiSEqC is not a problem for me in either app. But I have never seen the SIMPLE A, SIMPLE B, etc options anywhere else, so I am scanning now to see what comes up. Does anybody have any idea what these terms mean?

But I am a little alarmed to read the quote about the MP server blocking other applications.

    Hello and welcome John :)

    Tone and data burst.
It is the standardised DiSEqC version of a 22 kHz switch replacement. Just a simple A/B switching mechanism.

Tuner hardware can only be used by one application at a time. If two applications try to use/control a tuner at the same time... well, it usually doesn't work out so well.
