When scrolling horizontally it gets confusing as to which day you are looking at. Yes, the date is displayed, but short of memorizing the calendar forevermore, there is no easy way to recognize the day of week. In my case, TV programs I am interested in are often clustered on certain days. For example, live musical performances are often broadcast on Saturdays, so jumping ahead from Saturday to next Saturday is a quick/easy method to see if there is anything upcoming that I might be interested in.
In WMC, the day is abbreviated (Sun, Mon, etc.).
Also, displaying the full date is not exactly useful. I mean, the year is intuitively obvious, so it seems there is little value in taking up that real estate on the screen.
To me, something like "Wed, May 20" would be much more user-friendly than "05/20/2020".
