Is it possible to display the TV Reception Signal Strength and SNR in the "Program Info" screen?

Or at least when MediaPortal has trouble with dropped frames on a channel with bad reception, have it display the SNR onscreen?
Or via an OSD popup after pressing a keyboard shortcut such as the "I" key.

In fact, I dont think Media Portal displays these values anywhere at all, not even in the channel tuning screen.
(at least, I couldn't find it anywhere).

    Hi,

You can get signal quality and strength by going to the info menu screen (pressing "Info" on the remote twice while watching TV - I assume "i" twice on the keyboard does the same) and choosing Tuning Details... entry 7 I think.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi,

Thanks for that, I didn't realize there was a second page on that extra info page :p

Is the "Signal quality" the Signal-to-Noise ratio?

For some reason, the Signal Level is always at 100, even on a channel that barely works.

Unfortunately dufferen BDA drivers (even from same HW manufacturer) report values differently. So in general that info MP can show is useless.

I think the BDA Drivers for my Nebula DigiTV tuner are not so good.

The signal cuts out after leaving the PC idle for hours, after playing a Recording, live TV cannot come back unless I restart MP or the PC, I am seeing frame jittering/delaying just after changing channels and during Live TV viewing.

Is that the USB unit? I'm using the PCI versions and have no problems. Nebula did release a new set of drivers on the website a few months ago on http://www.nebula-electronics.com/downloads/downloads.asp

    Hi,

Yes its the external USB version (the one that gets power from the USB Port). I am using the latest BDA driver on Nebula's site.

With DigiTV its fine, but in Media Portal its quite unstable.

Last night I was watching TV and the picture froze for about 10 seconds every 30 seconds or so, then the whole PC froze after 30 minutes. I had to hard reset the PC and it worked fine after that.

I dont know if its just how Media Portal is, or if its the Nebula Tuner. I haven't tried other tuners.

I may buy another USB tuner, can you recommend a decent one that works great with MP?
